March 2023 Sub Box How-To
We’re so excited to take a closer look at the Artisan box as March’s subscription box theme! We’ll delve into the unique items in the box and ways to use them in your planning.
Artisan Paper Tape Set
This paper tape provides a multitude of uses! While it can certainly be for decorative use, it also has functional use. A great option is for creating headers! If a page does not have a designated space for a header, place the tape where needed before writing your header so that you have a more cohesive and organized layout. Of course, the tape can also work as just that - tape! Tape your journaling cards, pressed flowers, photos, and other memorabilia right into your planner.
Color Palette Cards
These helpful cards assist in coordinating color palettes in your planner. On the Palette card, it breaks down the role that light neutral color, bold main color, complementary color, accent color, and dark neutral colors play in creating a palette. We also include an example palette with Cloth & Paper’s very own signature colors, so that you can include the example palette in your own planner!
The flip sides help distinguish between hue, tint, tone and shade on the Color Theory side. Additionally, a visual aid is provided using a color wheel and dividing it by cool and warm. So, once you have a color chosen to create a palette, you have a guide for choosing tints, tones, and shades that work with it. The Color Scheme side also provides visual aids, this time for schemes and where they land on the color wheel. So, try choosing colors using these color wheel methods, such as complementary, to create your own scheme (or, use the examples shown on the card!).
Artisan Bundle
This bundle includes a Project Log, Swatches pages, Color Palettes section, notes space, and demo pages.
Project Log
Once you have a creative project in mind, it is time to start by planning. If you have a due date or end date, do not forget to write it next to the project name. Start with the project Details: who, what, when, where, why. Then, any additional Notes below. From your details/notes, choose which items will be needed, and list them under Materials. Under Action Plan, create a step-by-step task list, and add the date when it will need to be completed.
Swatches
Ready to add sketches, photos, or raw material to your planner? Add them right on your Swatches pages! Let’s take the materials you provided on the Project Log, and get into the nitty-gritty details on the Swatches page. This will be your personal reference as you progress and evolve in your project.
Color Palette
Remember the Color Palette Cards? Here is one place to use them! Whether you are designing your wardrobe, renovating a room, creating an artistic project, or even digitally painting, the Color Palette section will aid you in creating a cohesive design and mood. It also works similarly to the swatch pages in being a great reference.
Examples
Let us use the demo pages as a step-by-step example. We start with the project theme: New Planner Aesthetic. First, they have chosen a color palette that they will use for their new planner aesthetic. The Color details break down what each color will be used for/with. For example, Matcha will exclusively be used as an accent color, such as sticky notes and stickers. By planning their new planner aesthetic in this manner, they now just need to purchase and arrange the items planned, and can focus on creating their new layout!
The Swatches page incorporates multiple mediums, meaning it is likely a reference page in this example. Their signature paint color, fabric, and even physical products are referenced all on one page, along with details such as where it can be purchased.
The Project Log example includes great details you may not consider. For example, under the materials needed, they have included the price of the items. This is helpful for the planning process, and helps keep track of your project budget. Under action plan, they even include the planning process. For example, before the idea is even brought to fruition, they plan on viewing tutorials first. Steps like this are integral in keeping an organized project!
Color Psychology Insert
The Color Psychology Inserts are a unique reference pack! Take your time reading each color psychology breakdown. As thoughts and inspiration come to you, write them in the blank space. Have fun with it, whether by adding color, sketches, or creating a word map. Leave a bit of room open for the moments that a new color-related idea comes to you!
We hope these tips and tricks help you implement the "Artisan" box to your routine! Whether for creative projects or for everyday planning, you'll have the tools to elevate and beautify your space.

I love the planning ideas. I do not have a cover for the pages and I’m having trouble trying to determine the one that I need.
