Happy Hour | October 16, 2020 | Undated Monthly Desk Pad Sneak Peek

Welcome to Happy Hour everyone! This week we are giving you a sneak peek of one of our favorite items from the October Planning + Stationery subscription box, the Undated Monthly Desk Pad.

There can be a million things you need to keep track of during any given month, and sometimes you need a dedicated space for for only one subject. Use this desk pad to create work specific, school specific, child specific, or any kind of specific calendar you need. I created this spread to help me keep track of deadlines and meetings for work. Since I wanted a very clean and simple look I decided to forgo writing in the actual calendar and instead created a sticker coding system using our Minimal Shape Sticker Sets. If I see a corner sticker on a day then it lets me know to flip to my weekly calendar to check when the meeting or phone call is. Ash (grey) colored shapes let me know a project or task is due on that day, and the shape lets me know what kind of project or task it is.

The beauty of an undated calendar means that you don't have to assign it a certain month. You can keep a whole years worth of important dates using a single monthly layout and some color coding. I mocked up this spread for a teacher friend of mine who wanted to keep track of all her student's birthdays in a fun and compact layout. The Virginia school year runs from September to June, so I assigned each of the months its own color and created a key in the To Do space. Each child's name is entered on the correct day (1-31) and then the Transparent Dot Sticker indicates the month of their birthday. For example, Ben's birthday is on January 10th, so he goes in box number 10 when a Stone colored sticker to indicate January. To spice up the spread a bit (and stick with the circles theme) I decorated the spread with our Circle Sticky Notes in Dirty Chai and Linen.

A monthly calendar is also perfect for tracking everything from symptoms to habits. Use this desk pad and our Transparent Drop stickers to create something both informative and beautiful. For this spread I chose four complimentary drop sticker colors, each representing a self care habit. For each habit that I complete I place a sticker so that if I complete all four habits each day I have a little flower for that day. I'm planning on creating this spread for each month with a new color palette, so I have decided to keep the pages on the desk pad so I can see how I'm doing over several months.
