A Booklover's Guide to Planning
We at Cloth & Paper have many bibliophiles within our team! We’ve compiled tips and tricks to integrate your book planning with your daily planning.
Reading Habit Tracking
Every bookworm’s star insert pack is the Reading Log Inserts! These provide space to keep track of all of your current reads. Personalize your ratings using the five circles in the top-right corner, and review your thoughts in the blank space below your progress recording. By adding these inserts to your planner, you can keep a log of your reads wherever you go! Pair these inserts with our Arched Habit Tracker Inserts. These will help you visually keep track of your reading habits and goals.
Reading Goals Within Daily Planning
By creating goals within your book planning, you can keep your favorite hobby just as organized as your daily planning. The 2022 Spiral Bound Planner and 2022 Dated Planner Inserts | Vertical Weekly Lined are perfect for this! Choose one line each day or within your weekly notes to write your reading goal. The Arched Habit Tracker Sticky Notes | Angora are a great addition for daily planning! I like to add all of my habit tracking sticky notes to my daily planner so that they can be referenced in one place. One method includes using the Half Page Graph Inserts between weeks, and then adding the habit sticky notes to the half page inserts so as to not disturb your daily planning space.
Book Budgeting Within Financial Planning
I personally love browsing bookstores, and often forget to implement a book budget within my planning. With our Financial Bundle from the February 2022 Subscription Box, pre-plan your book buying habits within your personal budget. This is a fun way to responsibly outline all of your incoming book purchases! (This also may be a great method for planning to purchase a new e-reader!)
Using Page Flags + Sticky Notes
One of my favorite uses for the Matchstick Page Flags is marking my place while reading. (As someone who will shamelessly dog-ear books, these have been a great tool and surely save lots of winces from those around me). Using the various colors, you may also create a color key. For example, using the Lagoon, Mykonos, + Aspen volume, each color can signify the type of note. Lagoon may mark a page that includes a line that you liked, Mykonos for foreshadowing or related notes, and Aspen relating to overall theme notes. You can also use the Spotlight Page Flags for character-specific notes. Using the Quartz, Beignet + Champagne Volume, each color can signify character introductions, character mentions, and what every bookworm dreads: character deaths.
I also recommend using sticky notes for your personal notes while reading, especially for those who would rather not write their notes on the books themselves (another shameless habit of mine). With the Blank Tab Sticky Note Set | Blanc, you are able to write your reading notes and label the tabs with a header. With these sticky notes, use the Uni Pin Marking Pen to create your hand-written labels, or use the 2022 Blank Tab Sticky Note Printables to create ink-printed labels.
