3 Tips for Maintaining Your Leather Planner
Enjoy your leather planner for years to come using three simple tips for maintaining its high-quality material.
Cleaning
Due to the nature of leather, there may be some slight irregularities in the leather color, size of the grain, and texture. Each leather agenda will have some natural signage like wrinkles, blemishes and other markings. Enjoy your Cloth & Paper agenda for years to come by keeping it clean with a damp cloth or an alcohol-free wipe.
Many customers do use a leather conditioner to maintain their leather planners. Any standard leather conditioner should restore color and protect your agendas from everyday wear. However, we always recommend trying a spot test before fully conditioning the leather!
Humidity Control
Your planner may be affected by environmental factors like humidity and temperature. High humidity areas are somewhat beneficial, as it will keep your leather planner soft. In very low humidity areas, your leather planner may be prone to dryness. In this case, we recommend a humidifier. If your planner is left in one place for a long period of time, we recommend it being stored in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight.
“Relaxing” the Leather
When you first receive your leather planner, it’s likely that it will not lay completely flat. This is normal. Over time it will soften and relax over time—being genuine leather, the spine will just need to be worked a bit. If you want to try to speed things along, you can open the cover and place something heavy on each side overnight. You can also manually work the spine a bit by opening and closing. Initial stiffness is normal, and will relax with these pointers.
