Spring Cleaning Your 2022 Planner
Here in Central Virginia, the days are becoming warmer, calling for a crisp spring cleaning! This week we’ve organized tips and tricks on refreshing your 2022 planner to keep you feeling productive all year long!
Organize Used Inserts
For used inserts that are no longer needed, organize them accordingly. This may include recycling, archiving, or another storage method. The Textured Plastic Binders in A5 and Personal are ideal for creating an archive. (Read our blog “How to Archive Your 2021 Planner Inserts For a Fresh Start” and coordinating YouTube video to learn more about archiving).
Additionally, our Arched Folder | Cortado is perfect for storing inserts and accessories. The Outbox tab divider from the Inbox/Outbox Dividers may also be useful for those that would like to keep older months within their planner for reference.
Review Your Goal Planning
Within the first quarter of the year, have you developed any new goals? It’s never too late to start a new intention! Begin by reviewing goals that you’ve already started working towards, or ones that you’ve already accomplished this year. You’ll be able to track all of your past, in-progress, and new goals with the Goal Mapping Notebook. Keep even closer track of your goals by adding the Arched Habit Tracker Sticky Notes | Angora to your daily planning.
For goals that you’ve accomplished so far, did you set aside time to celebrate? Additionally, has your goal journey given any new ideas for next year? Analyze these questions and add any notes to your upcoming calendar to keep going strong through the rest of your year!
Reevaluate Your Calendars
Double-check your yearly and monthly calendars for upcoming months. Do any dates need to be adjusted? Any new birthdays or anniversaries to note? It may be helpful to transfer these dates to the 2022 Desk Calendar Set for an easy view within your living space or workspace. Additionally, the Staedtler Textsurfer Classic Highlighter in Black will allow you to cover up unneeded text, or use the Mini Shape Sticker Sets (with a shape such as Tape) to cover text and rewrite over it.
Reorganize Inserts
Freshen up your planner by reorganizing your inserts. You may need to add dividers, or even start using a second planner. These methods will keep your planner uncluttered and refreshed for the rest of the year. I’m biased towards the simplicity and flexibility of The Essentials Side Tab Dividers, as I can easily structure my planner without adding bulk. Try adding only a month or two within your Schedule, your most vital notes within Notes + Lists, and your Financial Bundle from the February 2022 Subscription Box budget planning under Finances.
If you find that you plan for multiple areas of your life (professionally, home, education, etc), it may be helpful to start a second planner in order to reduce bulk within your daily planner. A smaller-sized planner such as Personal or HP Mini may be suitable options for secondary planning.
We can all agree it’s easier to move towards your goals when you’re feeling refreshed - and giving your planner an old fashioned “spring cleaning” is just the way to do that.
