BOUND PLANNER VS. CUSTOMIZABLE PLANNER SYSTEMS

• A Bound planner features pages that are permanently connected to the spine of the planner. Bound planners are commonly manufactured with spiral binding, glued binding, or stitched binding. The interior of a bound planner cannot be rearranged or customized in the same way that inserts can be within a ringbound or discbound system. C&P offers an A5 Wire-O Bound Punch dated yearly planner, along with select dashboards and accessories that coordinate. • Discbound: A discbound system is a customizable planner system that uses closed discs to hold inserts and dashboards together within a cover. Discbound punched items have an open, “mushroom” style punch, which allows them to be pressed onto the discs securely and repositioned easily. Not sure how this system works? • Ringbound: A ring-bound system is a customizable planner system that uses a ring mechanism to hold inserts and dashboards together within a cover. Ringbound systems typically feature 6 rings that can be opened and closed with tabs. Inserts for this system have a more familiar, closed-circle punch, similar to loose-leaf paper. Spacing of the 6 rings will vary between sizes. Cloth & Paper produces both A5 and Personal sized 6 Ring Leather agendas. Shop our complete collection here.
  
  
• Spiral Bound: A spiralbound system uses a continuous metal or plastic wire to hold inserts together. Our 2021 Spiral Bound Planner features a Wire-O Bound Punch specifically chosen for its durability. Shop all things spiral here. Please note that spiral notebooks are not compatible with our Glass Plastic Notebook Covers, which are used for discbound items.
  
  

MAGNETIC CLIP

A powerful magnetic clip, perfect for use as a bookmark, pen loop, or planner decoration. These C&P fan favorites are chic, stylish, and versatile. Past Clips have been featured in our monthly subscription box; select styles have also been released during Happy Hour sales. They are very popular and tend to sell out quickly so act fast when they are available!

DASHBOARDS

Dashboards are single page products designed to be used both functionally and decoratively within a planner. Depending on design, dashboards may be used to divide planner sections, assist with organization, or provide a decorative overlay for inserts. Dashboards are also known in the planner community as vellums, due to the transparent nature of the paper sometimes used to make them. C&P Dashboards are available in a variety of materials, including soft touch paper, thin plastic, transparent vellum, and textured paper, and are often layered to create unique designs. DATED VS. UNDATED INSERTS

Dated inserts come pre-printed with calendar days and dates for a particular year. Cloth & Paper offers a wide variety of dated insert layout styles suitable for daily, weekly, or monthly planning.  

Undated inserts do not include specific calendar dates, and provide flexibility within your planning system. Undated inserts are a great choice for those new to planning, as they allow you to begin using your planner whenever you’d like, rather than waiting for the start of the next calendar year.

DISCS

Discs are closed circles made of sturdy plastic or aluminum that hold pages in a disc-bound system. Discs are combined with covers and discbound inserts to create a highly customizable planner.

A key element of the discbound system is the ability to upgrade your disc size as your planner becomes more full. 1 inch discs best fit 100-150 sheets, while 1.25 inch discs hold 150-200 sheets. 1.5 inch discs can accommodate up to 250 sheets. Divider and dashboard thickness may affect the amount of sheets that your discs can hold.

The number of discs required varies by planner size. HP Mini uses 7 discs, Half Letter 8-Disc Punch uses 8 discs, and HP Classic uses 9 discs. We also offer customizable Sticker Books that use 4 or 6 discs as the binding.

DIVIDERS

Dividers are sturdy pages used to create sections within a planner that typically feature a tab for ease of access. C&P dividers are available in top tab and side tab options. Our plastic dividers are available with pre-labeled tabs in several styles: CEO, Girl Gang, and Monthly. Additionally, we offer Blank dividers that can be customized to suit your planner’s specific contents.

GLASS PLASTIC

One of our signature luxe materials, our clear Glass Plastic features a smooth gloss finish on the front-facing side and a frosted finish on the back side. This creates a luxe glass-like effect while in use, and the frosted back provides increased durability. This plastic is thin yet durable, adding a minimalist touch to your organization without sacrificing functionality or adding bulk. This material differs from our Clear Plastic, which is frosted on both sides.

HAPPY HOUR

Cloth & Paper Happy Hour is a weekly online shopping event held each Thursday at 3 pm EST/EDT on our website. Each week, we update our Happy Hour collection with new releases and restocks of popular products.

INSERT

An insert is a set of pages sold to fit a refillable ring-bound or discbound planner. Inserts are typically pre-punched for a specific ring or disc mechanism, and are designed to hold information about a wide variety of topics. Our insert categories include Dated Inserts, Undated Inserts, Financial Inserts, Lifestyle & Self-Care Inserts, Notes & Lists Inserts, Projects & Goals Inserts, and Reference Information inserts. LAST CALL

C&P Last Call items are final sale products which will not be restocked. Last Call is the final opportunity to purchase products before they leave the shop. These products are non-returnable and non-refundable.

LEATHER AGENDA/COVER/FOLIO

These are different types of planner/planning enclosures. Refer to our helpful Leather Agenda Guide to learn more.

“MM”

Millimeter; used in our Pen & Pencil shop to refer to the size of a pen nib. A smaller mm nib will produce a finer line, while a larger mm nib will write more boldly.

NOTEPAD

Unlike a spiral notebook, a notepad is a glue bound stack of unpunched paper, typically with tear-away sheets. Perfect for keeping on your desk as a complement to your agenda!

PAGE FLAG

Page flags are perfect for marking important pages or tasks in your planner as well as creating color-coded systems! These small adhesive flags feature a signature transparent material, and are a must-have for every aspect of organization. C&P offers page flags in several different shapes, including circle page flags, rectangular page flags, and square page flags.

PAGE LIFTER

A page lifter is a punched sheet of plastic or another material used to add structure and stability to the back of a planner, which better supports the weight of inserts and dashboards.

PLANNER CARD

A planner card, also known as a journaling card, is a small card that can be added to your planner or journal for functional or decorative purposes. Planner cards may feature organizational tools (e.g., our AM/PM cards, which can be pinned to certain tasks), quotes, images, mini calendars, or habit trackers. Many people clip them onto a planner page or insert them in a pocket, credit card holder, etc. The are no rules or limits to how you can utilize planner cards, get creative!

PROCESSING TIME

Processing time refers to the time it takes to process and pack an order between the time it is received and the time it is shipped. Typically, shop orders are processed and ship within 2 business days. This time can vary depending on order volume or time of the year. Processing times are often extended during holiday seasons due to the volume of orders we receive.

PUNCH

A punch refers to the style of hole or cut-out that allows an insert to be held inside a planner using either a ring or disc mechanism. C&P carries 6-Ring Punch and Disc-punch styles.

RENEWAL DATE

Renewal date refers to the date each month that monthly subscriptions auto-renew. C&P subscriptions renew on the 1st of each month at 12 am Eastern Time. If you have opted for a multi-month prepay, your renewal will be the 1st of the month after your prepaid months are fulfilled. For example, if you subscribe in January to a 3 month prepay, your subscription will renew on April 1 for another 3 month term.
