How to Use Cloth & Paper's Inbox Collection
The inbox system is one of our favorite planning methods, and many of you have asked how to use it. This week we’ve prepared tips and tricks on integrating one of our most chic and unique collections into your daily planning!
The inbox planner system is designed to host all of your tasks in one spot in order to best organize and prioritize your planning.
Inbox Planner Inserts
List every task that’s part of your planner inbox, including goals, projects, appointments, and to-do’s. These inserts function as a “catch-all” for your incoming items, and they can then be prioritized using various organizational methods. Implement a color-coding system that divides tasks by priority, or work from small, manageable tasks onto larger big-picture items.
Inbox/Outbox Planner Tab Dividers White Text | Black Text
Paired with the Inbox Planner Inserts, the Inbox/Outbox Dividers allow you to further organize your inbox items. My favorite method to use with these dividers is adding my Inbox tasks as sticky notes on each divider. Additionally, you can organize your insert notes between the dividers. For incoming tasks that have not yet been evaluated, add them to your Inbox. For those that have already been evaluated (or delegated), move them to your Outbox; this organizational method should assist with your prioritization. For example, an incoming inbox task such as “sign documents” would be listed within your Inbox items. Once you’ve determined an action plan for the task, it can be moved to Outbox to then be transferred to your schedule and completed.

◯ Action Plans + Transferring
A key feature to using the inbox system is implementing action plans and transferring within your planner.
Crystal Clear Inbox Planner Dashboard™ | Arch
Our elegant Arch design is the highlight of this crystal clear dashboard! Use this dashboard to collect your sticky notes to then be transferred to your calendar or Inbox/Outbox Dividers. Layer the dashboard over your Inbox Planner Inserts for simplistic yet stylish decor, or even use dry erase markers to list your new notes and tasks.
Once all of your daily incoming tasks have been collected within your planner inbox, start creating an action plan for each item or delegating completion timeframes within your calendar. Once your tasks have been evaluated, transfer any sticky notes accordingly—whether it be to your outbox or archived.
Inbox Sticky Notes | Arch + Outbox Sticky Notes | Arch
Another key to the inbox system is coordinating tasks. The Inbox and Outbox Sticky Notes have made this a seamless process, as half of the work within evaluating tasks can already be completed by using the sticky note in coordination with how I expect to prioritize it, and where it will be organized within my planner. For example, if I know that an incoming action item needs to be further considered before being transferred to my Inbox and daily calendar, I’ll use the Outbox Sticky Note to jot down my task, then move it to my Outbox Divider.
Altogether, each product featured in the Inbox collection creates a stylish and cohesive look within your planner, and it serves as a fully functional planning method! Let us know in the comments if you have any other tips and tricks for using this unique collection, and how it’s helped your organization.
