Using Cloth & Paper Inserts for Tracking Pet Care
Using Cloth & Paper Inserts for Tracking Pet Care
Keeping up with critters takes work! There are many details to keep track of to successfully manage a household with pets, such as vaccination and medication records, appointments for veterinarian and grooming and information on pet sitters (i.e. the best dog walkers in the area!).
We have lots of pet lover’s in the office at C&P so we are always sharing tips on how to use our inserts for planning and organizing around our fury family members.
Our MINIMAL HABIT TRACKER PLANNER INSERTS are an excellent way to monitor how you (and the pets!) are doing on things that occur daily, or “to do” items that need to get accomplished multiple times a week. Here are a few things we think are helpful to focus on:
- feedings (a.m./p.m.).
- morning/afternoon/evening walks in the neighborhood
- administering important medications
- leaving/making payment for a “check-in” pet-sitter/dog daycare
- training time: one-on-one or with a trainer
- daily treats and miscellaneous play time at home
The habit tracker inserts are a great way for the extra organized to stay on top of pet ownership!
Pet-parent highlighted tip: If you visit a trainer one-on-one, or as part of a group, remember how essential it is to practice at home! Your pet’s success is critical to this piece of the process. The habit tracker planner inserts can also be used to monitor learned skills that have been mastered, and what commands still need extra attention, too!
For schedule keeping, the UNDATED VERTICAL WEEKLY WO2P – EDITION I is a great format to keep track of any type of scheduling: tasks that don’t necessarily happen every day, and appointments or reminders, such as when to administer flea preventative to a cat or the next potential “bath day” for a dog. These inserts can be used for pet-only related items, as they’re designed to accompany monthly capsules and daily planning pages, which you may already have in your planner!
The CAPSULE “NOTES” INSERTS and MINIMAL EXECUTIVE NOTES INSERTS (BLANK) are two options for everything else, to include notes for your pet’s favorite sitter while you’re away. If you’re interested, check out recommendations of what kind of notes to include from the ASPCA: https://www.aspca.org/news/pet-sitter-safety-what-know-you-go.
Pet-parent highlighted tip: Always include your regular veterinarian’s information (name, address and phone number) in your instructions and your preferred emergency facility, in the event of an issue while you are out of town. Please contact your vet prior to leaving to determine if you need to have a waiver signed for care, too!
Other notes that can be logged on these more general inserts include a list of preferred foods and treats, known allergies and reminders on where to purchase pet supplies for the best deals. You can also jot down important reminders and suggestions from your vet or trainer here as well.
As a “mom” of a multi-pet household, it’s key for me to stay on top of these important notes so I can keep my four-legged family members healthy and happy, wagging their tails. We hope these shared tips were a helpful start in this element of your planner life!
