August Planning Sub Box: A Closer Look
This month’s box inspires you to stop and take a moment. Sometimes, we just need our thoughts on paper. Our Mental Download Inserts and Mind Mapping Desk Pad will inspire you to take control of your flurried thoughts or ideas and transform them into organized, obtainable goals. Continue reading for tips on using your inserts as featured in the August 2021 Planning + Stationery Box.
Mental Download Inserts
The Mental Download Inserts serve as a guided journal to then transform into action items. First, add your thoughts to the General section. Then, use the Idea sections to group similar written thoughts and take a deeper look at each group. Feel free to use the Visual space to sketch or bullet as you explore your ideas. In the Notes section, plan dated tasks or actions in relation to your thoughts to then be transferred to your calendar. If your mental download does not relate to tangible actions (ie. you use these sheets to journal, you already have an action plan, etc), use the notes to expand on your General list, with more specific details and how it relates to your current aspirations.
Mind Mapping Desk Pad
Create mind maps for your big ideas, upcoming projects, or other important aspects of your life that need to be explored. Write the subject of your mind map in the center circle, and note your branches of thought in the grid space around it. Explore key aspects in the bullet list to the left, and any additional notes in Notes. After you’ve created your mind map, give yourself time to write your reflections and afterthoughts under Reflection. The grid space allows room for more than just written notes -- try implementing sketches, swatches, or including photos. For example, if you were interested in implementing a new planner in your planning routine, the Mind Mapping Desk Pad would be perfect for planning this addition. You may include a bulleted list of uses you have for the planner, draft your layout, and test page flag and pen swatches.
Try mind mapping subjects such as: an idea for a personal art project, room renovation, a work project, considering a new pet, or planning a social media post.
